I was contemplating my upcoming conversation with Life and Relationship coach, Amy Schoen, when I came across this quote from Margaret Mead, who said: “One of the oldest human needs is having someone to wonder where you are when you don't come home at night.” That gave me pause for thought.
Five years ago, single person
households in Canada comprised 28% of all
households. That’s a lot of people living
alone, with no-one there to wonder where
they are when they don't come home at night. While many single
people may not
feel the need for an intimate relationship, for others, the
social isolation of the past two years, has led them to want to
have someone to share their life. Finding that special person can
be hard at any age. But for those in their 50, 60s or 70s, it may
be specially daunting.
